Barb Morgan
Barb joined the church & club after moving from Vermont Netball Club in 1970.
Barb played netball with her sisters.
Barb took over the position of secretary from Lorna Godfrey in 1972 and continued in this position. During this time, she also continued to play, coach and umpire (obtaining “C” badge) until end of 1978 winter season. Barb then went overseas.
Barb returned to the Club in 1980 and resumed playing, coaching and umpiring. She took on secretary position again in 1981 and continued in all roles till mid 1990’s.
Barb finally ceased playing around 2000, after being threatened with knee reconstructions.
During this period Barb also participated on the SAUCNA umpire’s committee, followed by a period on the Assoc. main Committee. She held positions on the main SAUCNA committee for approx 10yrs, including as Treasurer.
In 1998/99 Barb then took on role of State Representative Manager for the SAUCNA Masters team and the Men’s team in 1991.
In 1994 she was selected as a player in the SAUCNA Masters team, from which she was selected to travel to Fiji as a member of the CANA Touring Team (they won all their matches).
A change of focus in 1996 saw her named as a SAUCNA Representative Team Coach, a role she continued through to 2003.
During this time, Barb guided teams from the Masters, 21& under,17& under and 16& under sections.
Barb travelled to Singapore with CANA in 2000 as the 21& under coach (again, the team won all their matches).
Barb coached for SAUCNA again in 2010 & 2011 the 17& under rep teams and still involved with team selections right up until 2017. Thank you Barb for being an ambassador of Grange, we enjoy your efforts in making Grange a great place to be involved with.
