What does it take to become an  Umpire?

If you are interested in umpiring for Grange Uniting Netball Club this year, we would love to have you on board! The following are the steps of our umpire development pathway, to help you learn the necessary information and skills to become a confident and successful umpire.

  • Register your expression of interest below.
  • Get Prepared to purchase a whistle and rule book.
  • Attend a Clinic - Either run by us, SAUCNA or Netball SA.
  • Sit the Test - Sit the Rules of Netball exam (achieve a min 70% to pass)
  • Get Game Practice - Practice umpiring a scratch match with a Grange senior umpire. Umpires that are 13yrs of age will need to be assessed by SAUCNA.
  • Ready to Go - You will need a white top, running shoes, your whistle and your confidence ready to umpire a real match.
  • Umpire Advanced Accreditation - Experienced umpires can register to be badged.
