Boys
More boys are discovering that netball offers a great opportunity for physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development. Across the country, an increasing number of boys are putting on their netball shoes and taking to the court. They’re joining clubs, attending training sessions, and competing at all levels. These players are not just participating—they’re showcasing their skills and proving that netball is a sport for everyone, regardless of gender.

So, if you’re a boy, here are the current eligibility rules:

  • Must meet the age criteria to play in 11/U but can play in 13/U SAUCNA Playing Conditions (March 2023)
  • There is a maximum of two boys per team allowed on court at any one time and they must always be positioned in different thirds
    • This means they cannot play: GA & GS, GD & GK, C & WD/WA, or WA & WD at the same time.
    • However, they can play GA & WA, GD & WD, C & GA/GS/GD/GK

      Important Coaching Information

Grange Uniting Netball is a volunteer Club. In order to keep Grange netball thriving it is important that we have parents and community members volunteer their time to help provide children with an affordable place to develop netball skills within their community. Our mission is to provide an environment where young netball players are guided and inspired to advance their skill level in a friendly inclusive social environment and reach their full potential both on and off the court.

      Coaching
Often we are faced with the problem of having more children register than we have teams with coaches. Please consider volunteering your time to be a coach for your team. No previous netball experience is necessary in order to serve as your teams coach; we will share our best practice drills with you and offer trainings and clinics. We offer support to our coaches and respond quickly whenever you need support guidance or coaching tips. We also have a great source of information and resources available to you online. If you are a parent you will get to spend quality time with your child on the netball courts. This can be a great time to bond with your child.

      Team Manager
Each team must have a Team Manager. Team Managers play a vital role in a team running efficiently. An organised Team Manager is important to ensure the team runs smoothly throughout the season. We like to ensure we spread the love and get each parent involved in their child's match.  Duties that need help each week are scoring timing. Don't worry this isn't a daunting task we will supply a document to help you manage if you haven't managed a team before.

Your success and your child's enjoyment is our priority. Jump over to our coaches and managers page for more information.
